One thing to remember is that the secret to failure is to try and please EVERYONE.
And one of the things about powerful people is they realize that you can't please everybody.
I think Dr. King once said that, that when you are confronted with a major issue that expediency would ask the question, "Is it safe?"
Politics will ask the question, "Is it popular?"
But conscience would ask the question, "Is it right?"
And sometimes you must take a stand that's neither safe nor popular, but you must take that stand.
Because it is RIGHT.
In order to become more effective in our relationships, integrity is very important.
You've got to be honest…
Winston Churchill said that the truth is incontrovertible.
Malice may attack it; ignorance may derive it.
But at the end, there it is.
If you want to be a powerful person -- don't settle on your dreams. Don't settle on your ideas.
Stand up for what you believe in and GO for it.
You might worry about getting back up again if you fall.
Yes, it’s hard starting all over again.
It's very difficult, but you can do it.
After you sit there for so long, you get comfortable and now you’re dragging yourself back into the race again, to get back into the arena.
Again, to get back in condition.
Again, to get back into the classroom…
Again, to start studying.
Again, it's challenging.
But you can do it.
