To get people to see what’s possible, we can share our own STORY.
You know that when I got out of school, I wanted to buy my mother a home…
So, I decided to go into disc jockeying.
One thing I’ve learned is that it’s better to be prepared for an opportunity and not have one, than to have one and not be prepared.
You see, many times, when you want more, you’ve got to be willing to pay your dues.
When I wanted to get a job at the radio station as a disc jockey, I started off as their errand boy, and then I would be hired to drive visiting celebrities around Miami Beach.
During that time, I had been learning and memorizing the other DJs’ movements with the controls.
Then, one night, opportunity knocked on MY door.
The DJ that was working that shift got drunk and couldn’t work…
Long story short, I was ready and HUNGRY to show what I could do.
This was my chance!
When telling that story, I tell myself that I’m telling it for the very FIRST time.
This helps me to keep it FRESH and get people EXCITED.
When you observe authors such as Bob Proctor, Jack Canfield, Maya Angelou, etc., they use
their PRESENCE to hold an audience.
What do they all have in common?
They all share their story as if they were doing it for the FIRST time.
People want CONSISTENCY…
So, the key is to tell it like you did, with the same passion and enthusiasm as you did previously.

Think of it as ‘mouth to mouth’ resuscitation for the mind.
